Louisa Krämer-Weidenhaupt

Louisa is a fine art underwriter, appraiser, writer and researcher with a specialisation in Modern and Post-War art. Louisa founded W&B Studio in 2021 and has more than 13 years of experience working in both fine art sales and the art insurance industry for companies such as Axa Art and ERGO Fine Art & Specialty as well as galleries including Galerie Karsten Greve and Galerie Thomas. With both extensive experience in fine art sales and underwriting for private, commercial and institutional collections, Louisa specialises in provenance and authentication research, documentation under consideration of AML regulations and due diligence standards as well as providing appraisals and valuations. She also has a strong understanding of risk management for complex logistical projects in institutional art collections as well as preventative conservation measures. Louisa holds an MA in Art Market Appraisal, accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Leicester. As a researcher, her main interest lies in arts patronage, the institutionalisation of private collections, interactions between the commercial art world and the institutional sector, as well as sustainable collection management and operational practice.
